What is Organisational Consultancy?
Leaders have the task of ensuring that organisations can meet the demands of their futures effectively. This can be a complex and problematic process. The stresses that arise between people working together can lead to a loss of motivation and to confusion or conflict about objectives, and this can prevent organisations from developing to their full potential.
An independent consultant with an understanding of how individuals, groups and organisations work can help to identify hidden agendas that may be interfering with the achievement of common goals.
My work has been tested in practice and can bring new insights to awkward or recurrent problems, and thus enable an organisation to move forward.
The objectives of the consultancy work I carry out are to:
- understand the aims of the organisation, the nature of the services and products offered, and the specific environment in which you work
- create a climate in which the history, values and culture of the organisation and any conflicts you experience can be safely explored
- help you, the client, to learn more about the underlying assumptions which affect the life of your organisation
- explore the interactions between the organisation and its external environment
Consultations with individuals and organisations are approached with an open mind. My aim is to develop an appreciation of the issues involved and to understand the unique nature of the client’s concerns.
I am skilled in:
- increasing motivation and direction in organisations
- facilitating the development of clear aims and objectives, which can be successfully implemented
- enhancing a sense of shared purpose, as well as a recognition of the importance of differing perspectives and contributions
- enabling individuals and groups to consider and extend the choices they have for future action and behaviour
